Treyson's Wedding

My Photo
Name:
Location: Laramie, Wyoming, United States

Jason and I were married in April 2006 and are too busy dedicating our lives to the great state of Wyoming, wondering what to have for dinner, walking the streets of downtown, playing with the dogs and fighting crime to think of anything witty to say here.

About Us:

Teresa Beyer
Teresa was born in February of 1979 in Mississippi. Sortly after, her parents moved to Edwards AFB, California. She spent 20 years as a "military brat" traveling and spending time in Florida, Minnesota, Ohio, and Georgia. She graduated with an undergrad degree in History with minors in English and Photography from Piedmont College in northern Georgia in 2001. After taking a year off to work retail and backpack in Italy, she went back to school, graduating with a Master's Degree in Public History from the University of West Georgia in 2003. July 1, 2003 she became the curator at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site and has enjoyed living in Wyoming ever since! In the little time left after work, community meetings, and trips to see (work with) Jason in Casper, she continues to build her photography and photo-editing skills.

Jason Sherwood
Jason was born in October of 1977 in Wyoming (like four generations before him). Just like Teresa's parents, his also moved shortly after the birth, but in Jason's case, it was only from from Arlington, WY (the whopping metropolis--just try to find it on a map!) to "urban" Elk Mountain, a few miles to the west. Jason spent his entire childhood there, until he took a full-time (volunteer) "job" at the Sybille Big Game Research and Wildlife Conservation Education Center (45 miles north of Laramie) between his Junior and Senior years of high school. The job started paying the next summer, and he continued to work summers there between semesters at the University of Wyoming; well, until he was offered a job putting radio collars on mountain lions for the University. When the funding for that (very fun and exciting) job ran out, he again returned to Sybille. After receiving his BS in Wildlife Management, he stepped into a year-round job there. The following spring, he was offered a job as a "reservoir crew" game warden for the state of Wyoming. He then got his taste of being a military brat--as the Department transferred him from Green River (and Baggs, Kemmerer, and Cokeville), to Glendo, to Elk Mountain, to Yoder (another urban center), to Elk Mountain, to Gillette, and promoted him to the Cheyenne Game Warden "Trainee" position (yes, a "trainee" after performing warden duties for 4+ years--its just a job title....and this was where he met Trey!). Shortly after meeting Teresa, he was promoted to District Game Warden and transferred to Casper, where he still lives as he prepares for his next move back to the Laramie Region--and living with his wife!

How We Met:

Jason and I met Feb. 18th, 2005 at Trinity Coffee House in Laramie. I was hosting a small reception for my first solo photography show and mutual friends invited Jason. When he walked into the coffee house, I thought he was lost. (Jason doesn’t look like the artsy type!). After the show, we had dinner at Tommy Jacks (a Cajun restaurant) around the corner from the coffee shop and went to a snow-sculpting contest at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site. As the evening was wearing down, Jason got enough courage to ask me for my phone number. I guess the rest is history!
